No website can bring you into communion with Christ, allow you to encounter the sacraments, or give you an experience of parish life. This website is merely a tool, a pointer, and an introduction to who we are, what we are about, and how we serve. It may also help some with good information and resources.
In short, the "Word became flesh and lived among us." God was not downloaded for our knowledge and digitalized into our experience! For this reason, I have developed the content of this website to provide only a snapshot of who we are, what we do, and a guide for those seeking information.
I have avoided trying to create an "online experience" of Christ, His Church or our parish. Especially for those who may not have been raised Catholic or influenced by a religious culture, I also have attempted to avoid using in-house Catholic jargon, terminology, and abbreviations. My apologies, if I have broken my own rules in this regard.
As helpful as the internet is, a relationship with Christ and His Church is, understandably,
notone click away, tempting as that button is. It will only sign you up for online giving!
Therefore, towards that goal of encountering Christ and deepening our intimate unity with Him (communion), we are always in need of:
His Grace, communicated through the lived reality of His Church and strengthened through the Sacraments, especially reconciliation and the Eucharist.
The Gift of Faith, in who Christ is and what He can do in our lives and the world.
His Spirit, so we can hear and reflect upon His message to us, especially through the Holy Scriptures.
His Courage, to proclaim to the world and all creation by both word and deed the Gospel of Salvation, even at the cost of sacrifice.
